Word Games
Have fun with words!
When I do face-to-face teaching I always emphasise that we should have fun with words. They are the tools of our trade. Let’s enjoy them!
A sentiment which reminds me a bit of this video:
I love all sorts of boardgames, especially those with fun themes. Takenoko, where you grow bamboo in Japan. Palaces of Carrara, where you trade marble in Italy. Ticket to Ride: Europe, where you build rail networks across … well, that should be obvious if you can read.
But don’t rule out word-based games! They are excellent opportunities to test and enhance your word power. To make the tools of our trade into scorable constructions. To have fun with friends and family.
There are masses of them. Here are just a few of my favourites.
